Global Book Fair: Saturday, 25th May, 2019

Immerse yourself in the joy of reading printed and picture books. Nearly new books in several languages for children ages 0-14 will be on sale. Stock your family library and invite a friend to come and have fun browsing. Children First’s bookfair is open to the public and proceeds go to Room to Read, a global non-profit organization promoting literacy in regions of Africa and Asia especially among young girls.

Now announcing our programme!

Activities for children include an origami workshop and painting session followed by a kids yoga class by Chantal Hauser. Parents are invited to join Dr. Wolfram Hötzenecker for a talk about allergies in children and don’t miss the mini-concert by Dawn Lilgé and her small ensemble of violin students. Face painting will be provided by Delitime 10.00-12.00. After lunch join local author Miriam Reed as she reads her book Run Ziggy Run. Last but not least we will draw our lucky winners for our exciting raffle prizes. Rain or shine, this will be a great day out for the whole family.

Activities for children are 5 CHF each. Tickets for the talk for parents is 30 CHF.  Ticket proceeds for talks and activities will go to Room to Read. We thank our presenters and participants for supporting the education of children here and abroad.

In Loving Memory – The Global Book Fair honours the life of Kishori Salter who tragically lost her life in 2016. Kishori established the first Book Fair at Children First to raise funds for charity. This year proceeds from sales of children’s books at our Global Book Fair on May 25, 2019 will support children’s literacy across the globe in partnership with Room to Read a global charity. Learn more about Kishori.
